World Music Project
"mother Tongue"
This is a special project I've been working on for the last 2 years.
The idea behind this project is creating a collection of different folk songs and lullabies from different countries, in different languages, performed by different singers.
The element that combines all the songs is the authentic singing which, maybe by coincidence, is beeing sung by female singers, who are all mothers to children.
Most of the vocals are beeing transferred to me via the internet but some of the recordings were made while meeting the singers in europe (e.x. the Czech vocals were recorded in the hotel loby while i was visiting Prague).
The project is successful in europe and some of the songs have topped the world music charts in Portugal and the UK.
